Teal Qualifies For The Boston Marathon : After months of dedicated training and countless miles logged, Teal completed the Lowell (MA) marathon on 10-19-08 in 3:28:39, nearly 12 minutes under the Boston qualifying time for females 18-34. She finished 18th of 118 females in her age group 20-29. Rusty, Jesse, and I had a delightful time on a cool & pretty day chasing after her all over the course -- and have petitioned for a trophy that should be awarded to the support team that finds the most spots to cheer on their runner.

Mohawk & The Midgets 7-20-07 : A lucky crowd caught Mohawk & The Midgets at their gig in the Pennsylvania suburbs last week. Mohawk was in fine form as lead singer, bass guitar, trombone, song-writer, and center-of-attention stage presence. As pointed out by at least a couple of folks on the scene, "They may be small, but they can rock!" Fans charged the stage at the end to high five the man. The word has it that the performance will soon be released at Mohawk's snook94 youtube web site. Don't miss it.

Walnut Hill Farm June 2005 : J's sister, Francie, and Kirk Langer live on their lovely horse farm & estate in Southbury, CT, with two dogs, about a dozen horses, several guinea hens, countless chickens -- and numerous barn swallows, bluebirds, foxes, and other wild animals. Their new baby colt, Skedaddle (sp?), is less than a month old in these photos. (As of 11-25-07, temporarily storing a few photos from the neighborhood around the farm taken this week).

Charlottesville Marathon April 16 2005 : Colette and Teal completed their first marathons -- on a hilly course -- on April 16. They trained in Richmond through the winter. C to T, afterwards, "Well now we can check that off our life to-do list."

Christmas 2008 : The Philadelphia wings of the Connor clan -- and some longer-distance visitors -- gathered at our house the day after Christmas. The game "Catch Phrase" circled the group at high speed with witty prompting, bad guessing, and lots of beeps. Can Bridget defend her MVP title successfully next year? It's hard to think so fast as you age, you know! (Choose "Fast Slide Show" above to get in the spirit of the game.)

Teal Runs The Boston Marathon 2009 : Chased by her fan club, on a cool/gray Patriot's Day, Teal ran the Boston Marathon in a PR time of 3:18. Kudos to her for all the months of hard work so our gang could enjoy the oldest marathon in the country so much.

Masterman Wins Philadelphia City Softball : Gabi Connor's team, Masterman High, won the Philadelphia Public School Championship in girls softball yesterday (5/21/09), defeating Central HS, 5-1. That makes two city championships this year (volleyball too), both over Central in the finals. Congratulations to Gabrielle and all her teammates. It was a thrill to watch!

Teal Runs NYC Marathon : Teal's latest marathon November 1, 2009... with 43,000 other runners, crossing the Verrazano Bridge from Staten Island, up through Brooklyn, west through Queens, uptown on First Avenue in Manhattan, to the Bronx, and then downtown again through Manhattan on Fifth Avenue, into Central Park. Team Teal members chased her by subway, cellphone, and computer.
